TRAVEL INDUSTRY EXAMINES AIRPORT WELCOME
Representatives from Disney, Universal, and Busch Entertainment recently spent a day at Dulles International Airport examining how incoming international visitors are greeted and handled. It’s the first step in applying industry-standard practices to Customs and Border Protection procedures as part of the Rice-Chertoff Initiative. This site visit was arranged by TIA and also included staff from TIA and the Travel Business Roundtable, as well as representatives from the Commerce Department’s Office of Travel and Tourism Industries. Like other international airports in the U.S., Dulles is challenged by space and staff constraints. The industry is working with the federal government, airport authorities and hub airlines both at Dulles and at Houston’s Bush Intercontinental Airport to design improvements to the process for screening and welcoming international travelers.

WEB SEMINAR DECEMBER 8: KEEP YOUR FINGER ON THE PULSE OF THE MARKET
Organizations are increasingly turning to a proprietary panel of existing or potential customers online to stay in touch. During a TIA web seminar December 8, Dan Ryan, Senior Director of Travel + Tourism at Vision Critical will present how a proprietary panel works, best practices, client examples and a selection of new ways to leverage the medium with interactive visuals and 3D animation.

• Know your customers at a deeper level
• Gain a better understanding of your customers and market
• Create 3-Way dialogue in a VIP community

Since 2000, Vision Critical has been on the forefront of online research. To date they’ve developed over 100 proprietary panels and managed over 1 million panelists for companies such as Nestle, Mattel and Virgin Mobile. This year Vision Critical partnered with the TIA to create a “Voice of the Industry” panel. Click here for information.
