DOW REPRESENTS U.S. TRAVEL INDUSTRY AT WORLD TOURISM DAY
TIA led the country's participation in World Tourism Day, September 27. "Tourism Enriches" was the worldwide theme and speaks to the many contributions and opportunities created by the $646 billion U.S. tourism industry. Roger Dow, President and CEO of TIA, joined international tourism leaders in Lisbon, Portugal - the site of World Tourism Day's official activities - to represent the United States in the day's proceedings. In addition, he spoke on behalf of the U.S. travel industry at think tank sessions related to global tourism. "Inviting more international visitors to the United States is a priority and an exciting opportunity for us, and World Tourism Day is another step in letting travelers know that America and the American people welcome their visit," Dow said. "Nationwide, cities and states are greatly impacted by the economic, social and cultural benefits of travel." For more information from TIA on World Tourism Day click here or visit www.unwto.org.
