TIA and its strategic partner the Travel Business Roundtable (TBR) support implementation of the Western Hemisphere Travel Initiative but continue to have concerns with the government's execution of the program and the likelihood that all processes will be working effectively by the imposed deadlines. TIA members just completed the most significant changes to the association's operating rules in its more than half-century history. "TIA needed a greater ability to seize opportunities and respond quickly to industry challenges on behalf of its members." TIA National Chair Jay Rasulo, Chairman, Walt Disney Parks and Resorts said after declaring the updates complete. "The changes give the TIA Board more authority to make decisions." Rasulo said he was pleased to be at the helm when TIA's operating documents were updated from those originally intended to serve 30-40 members to rules that can serve thousands well.
