SEE
AMERICA STRIKES A CHORD IN LONDON AND BERLIN
The newly revamped See America Day UK was a resounding
success with over 150 media, tour operators and U.S. suppliers in

trade marketplace, networking lunch with UK tour operators and a

U.S. travel industry's campaign to welcome visitors back to "See

TIA REMAINS NEUTRAL ON .TRAVEL
TIA agrees that the .travel sponsored top level domain (sTLD) provides
the travel industry with an online space removed from the anonymity
and chaos of the .com domain. However, there currently does not
appear to be the universal industry support and promotion necessary
to make .travel (and the .travel directory) a highly utilized and
successful sTLD. Given that advances in technology occur rapidly
and are difficult to predict and recognizing that .travel was only
recently introduced, TIA is currently neutral on the .travel initiative
and maintains a “wait and see” position. TIA will maintain a close
watch for further developments and will keep its members updated
accordingly. Click here

TAKE PART IN CUTTING-EDGE ECOMMERCE RESEARCH
TIA is conducting an exciting new ecommerce study and TIA
members are invited to take part. Current TIA research tells us
that more than half of all travelers use the Internet for travel
planning and 43 percent use it to make travel reservations. The
new ecommerce study will take this knowledge to the next level by
focusing on the overall customer experience when shopping and purchasing
travel and travel-related services online. The goal of the study
is to establish metrics in the industry and form the basis for industry-wide
customer satisfaction measurements. For more information on how
your organization can participate, contact Laura Mandala at (202)
