The May Travel Price Index, TPI, rose 6.7 percent compared to May 2007. Gasoline prices were up 9.5 percent from April and 21.2 percent from one year ago. Lodging prices were up 0.9 percent compared to May 2007 and decreased 0.6 percent from last month. Airfares increased 14.4 percent against twelve months earlier and rose 4.2 percent from previous month. The Consumer Price Index, or CPI-U, was up 4.2 percent from May 2007.
