Economic Review of Travel In America, 2005 Edition
Spanning 1999 to 2004, as well as, where available, 2005 data and forecasts for 2006 and beyond, this report has three primary sections covering: the economic impact of travel in the U.S. (total travel expenditures, travel-generated employment, payroll, and tax revenue), the U.S.'s place in global tourism (the state of global tourism and international travel to the U.S.), and the performance of major travel-related industries in the U.S. (including airlines, lodging, amusement and recreation services, and food service). Impact of Travel & Tourism on the U.S. and State Economies, 2005 Edition
This state-by-state travel impact study is based on TIA's Travel Economic Impact Model (TEIM) and presents estimates of direct travel expenditures by domestic and international travelers, travel-generated employment and payroll income in the nation and each state. Travel-generated tax receipts for federal, state, and local governments are also provided. This report includes preliminary 2004 impact estimates for the nation and 2003 estimates for 50 states and Washington, DC. The report was published jointly by TIA and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce.
