AOL Travel® and TIA are in development of a National Tourism Week (NTW) promotion designed to raise awareness of travel, tourism and specific destinations during National Tourism

Week on AOL channels and through user-generated videos and photos on AOL Travel featuring

American destinations.

Visitors and local residents alike will have the opportunity to contribute images and be featured on AOL Travel by simply uploading their favorite domestic destination-related videos and photos using AOL's UnCut Video and AOL Pictures. Submitted videos/photos will be tagged for publishing on AOL Travel after passing through established AOL filters. AOL will also feature travel industry fun facts and info on its widely viewed Welcome Screen during the 9-day period of May 12-20 (20+ million impressions over two weeks) and include NTW content in its AOL Travel newsletter (over two million subscribers). A promotional module on AOL Travel and on other AOL channels will also boost the awareness of this collaboration to AOL users.

TIA is asking its member cities and states to support this online promotion as part of NTW activities by placing an AOL-created Web tile on individual homepages that links users to AOL's Tourism Week landing page and to publicize it through communication to local media and through outreach to visitors.

The information below includes the Web tile links and URL for the AOL promotion.  Please forward this to your Web or IT staff member, and plan to post the tile on your site from May 1-20.  If you have any questions, contact details are below.

STEP 1:

Select a place on your Web site to post one of the two tiles below (your choice on size). Obtain the tile for your site at the link provided.

STEP 3:

Take it live on May 1. The completed AOL-Tourism Week landing page is not available before May 1.

STEP 4:

Keep the tile on your site through May 20, and then remove it. The AOL-Tourism Week landing page will come down on May 21.
