See America Week 2005 - United Kingdom

Hundreds of British travel writers, tour operators and travel agents attended the fifth annual See America Week UK in London, the largest Visit USA event in the UK. See America Weeks are a series of seminars and other events that focus trade and media attention on U.S. travel products.

See America Week UK opened with a reception at Winfield House, the official residence of the U.S. Ambassador to the United Kingdom.

Anna Domingo, director of Marketing, Top of the Rock, was one of 10 travel industry professionals plus representatives from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security who made presentations to British travel agents and tour operators during the See America Week Educational Seminar.

See America Week UK also recognizes outstanding travel writing. Matt Hampton (middle) from Travel Weekly (UK) received the Visit USA Travel Writer Award for best article about U.S. travel in the trade publications. The Visit USA Travel Writer Awards were sponsored by Albuquerque Convention and Visitors Bureau.

The always popular Media Marketplace brought British journalists and U.S. travel industry public relations professionals from 55 organizations together. The ratio of travel writers to companies and destinations was almost 2 to 1.
