See America Websites
In the absence of a federally-funded national travel and tourism organization, TIA, in partnership with more than 2,000 leading travel industry organizations, created the See America brand. This brand was developed to represent the entire U.S. travel and tourism product and has been used to promote the United States as the world's premier tourism destination.
Discover America will be replacing See America as the new brand that will be used to promote the United States to international markets in consumer and trade marketing initiatives. The Department of Commerce recently awarded TIA with a $3.9 million cooperative agreement to build, market, and maintain a set of websites aimed at five markets that account for roughly 80% of international inbound travel to the United States. DiscoverAmerica.com will be the new top level domain for these websites. The See America websites will remain active throughout 2007 until the launch of DiscoverAmerica.com in the first quarter of 2008. There are currently opportunities for advertising on the www.SeeAmerica.jp, a Japanese language site that generates about 40,000 visits per month. Please contact kinoue@tia.org if interested in these advertising opportunities. The SeeAmerica.org and SeeAmerica.org.uk websites will not be supporting advertising in 2007.
