Dave Mimm - Vice President, Finance

Dave Mimm joined the Travel Industry Association as Accounting Manager in 1999. He was promoted to Director of Financial Management/Controller in 2000 and then to Vice President of Finance in 2005. He has over 34 years of accounting experience with 29 years in the non-profit arena. He oversees the day to day accounting operation, cash management responsibilities, budgeting and financial reporting duties of the Association and its Foundation. He is also Treasurer for the newly formed DiscoverAmerica.com LLP.

Prior to his employ at TIA, Dave worked for the U. S. Chamber of Commerce where he spent 20 years as Accounting Manager/Controller. He was responsible for the accounting operations of the Chamber as well as its Affiliates, the National Chamber Foundation, National Chamber Litigation Center, and the Center for International Private Enterprise. He held the position of Assistant Treasurer for two of the Affiliates and served as acting Vice President of Finance during an interim period. Prior to his tenure at the U. S. Chamber, Dave started his career as Fixed Assets Supervisor at Pargas, a liquefied gas distributor in Waldorf, Maryland.

He graduated from the University of Maryland with a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting and also received credits toward an MBA degree. His interests include reading, coaching softball, and playing basketball and tennis.

Dave resides in Woodbridge Virginia with his wife, Janice, and their two daughters.
