TIA has a number of major programs dedicated to forecasting travel volume and trends. Please select one of the four options below to learn more about the detailed offerings.

  • U.S. Travel Forecast contains forecast estimates from TIA's proprietary travel forecasting models. A complete U.S. Travel Forecast summary is provided here. TIA members can view TIA's Annual Travel Forecasts by purpose of trip, mode, and lodging. Comprehensive and Premier Subscribers can receive a detailed travel forecast report including Q & A forecasts by trip characteristics and regions.

  • International Visitor Forecasts are developed by the Tourism Industries section of the U.S. Department of Commerce, International Trade Administration. This summary report provides TIA members and the industry the most recent inbound international arrivals forecasts for the U.S. from Tourism Industries. A link to the Tourism Industries web site is also included.

  • Seasonal Travel Forecasts estimates U.S. resident domestic pleasure travel volumes by season (fall, winter, spring, and summer). The forecasts are based on TIA's U.S. travel forecasting model, historical TravelScope® consumer travel survey data, and a survey of U.S. adults' intentions to travel in the upcoming season.

  • TIA’s Marketing Outlook Forum: Each fall, TIA holds its annual conference, the Marketing Outlook Forum, to review the U.S. travel industry’s performance for the year-to-date and to consider the prospects for the coming year. A number of key industry analysts and outside experts present their forecasts for the coming year for the U.S. economy, domestic and international travel, auto and air travel, the lodging industry and a number of other individual travel industry sectors or consumer segments. The proceedings are published in the Domestic Outlook for Travel and Tourism and the International Outlook for Travel and Tourism.
